THEKEN RECEIVES FDA CLEARANCE FOR A NEW POSTERIOR
CERVICAL SPINAL FIXATION SYSTEM
Atoll™ – Cervico-Thoracic system is the second product out of six which Theken
anticipates receiving FDA clearance in 2007
AKRON, OH (June 7, 2007) Theken Spine, a leader in spinal fixation systems, announces that the Atoll – Cevico-Thoracic system received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market in the United States (US).
This is the second product out of six for which Theken anticipates receiving FDA clearance this year.
Atoll is currently in the alpha phase and product launch is targeted for mid-Summer 2007. Theken worked with a team of design surgeons to develop Atoll. It is intended for use in patients with:
• Degenerative Disc Disease
• Spinal Stenosis
• Fracture/dislocation
• Tumors
• Revision of previous spine surgery.
The Atoll – Cervico-Thoracic system is indicated to promote fusion of the cevico-thoracic regions of the spine (cervical vertebrae 1 – thoracic vertebrae 3). Composed of titanium alloy, the Atoll System consists of polyaxial screws, rods, arched and straight cross-connectors, hooks, and patent pending locking screw assemblies. These components are available in an assortment of sizes to allow for a variety of configurations to better fit each individual patient anatomy.
