THEKEN ACTIVELY RECRUITING NEW DISTRIBUTORS AND
EXPANDING SALES FORCE IN US

Over 12 new distributors in 2007

AKRON, OH (August 22, 2007) Theken Spine, a leader in spinal fixation systems, announces that it is actively recruiting new distributors and expanding its sales force in the US. In 2007, Theken has received FDA clearance for four new products and anticipates receiving FDA clearance for two more this year. With
the addition of these new products, Theken Spine now offers a full product line to surgeons that includes fixation solutions and biologics for conditions located in all regions of the spine.

To complement the product line expansion and positioning of the organization as a full line spinal implant provider, Theken has added over 12 new distributors to its sales network in 2007.

“We are positioning ourselves for continued growth. As we head into 2008, a major company initiative is to recruit new Distribution and expand our sales force in the United States. We not only have a full line of products to offer our sales force, but also have some very unique features and benefits within our product
line that should be very attractive to experienced distribution groups,” states John Winge, Executive VP of Sales.
